Create a trendy home work envionment with a stylish home office desk from our large range of desks made for the home study. Our range span from traditional wood finishes to sleek modern high gloss surfaces and anything in between.

With many of us now working from home one of the first things people think about is, do I need a home office desk? For many, they already have a table or worktop that they can use as a home desk in an area that allows them to work and continue to do so through their home working time. Others will choose to use a laptop and either work remotely in a café or at home on the sofa. However, with both methods, they are not ideal for your posture and quite often, aren’t as productive as a complete home office with an office desk and office chair. Many of those using the methods above, eventually come around to this way of working once it is clear that working from home will be ongoing. So whether you are just setting up your office, or replacing you laptop and sofa option, we have a huge range for you to choose from.

What Type of Home Office Do You Have?

Having a home office is very different from a typical office in the sense that your home version can be anywhere in the home. Most that can will use a spare room but some have used other rooms such as a garage conversion. From the spare room to a corner in the kitchen, we hold a large selection of office desks for home that will fit into any part of your home and make your home/work life that little bit easier.

  • Small and Cosy: We have a range of compact home computed desks that allow you to work using a PC or Laptop. Pair them with our monitor arms and you can save even more space having your monitors fixed at the very edge of your desk and at a height that allows for good posture and plenty of room. Small desks are great for those who don;t do much writing or drawing and solely use their desk for laptop or PC work.
  • A Whole Room: Depending on the size of the room and your requirements, will depend on the desk you choose. With many options to choose from such as a double pedestal desk or even two desks that sit side by side for those who have more than one working from home, you’ll be sure to find a model that suits your needs.
  • A Corner Home Office: If you need a desk that has lots of space and you have a nice corner in your room just waiting to be used up, then a corner home office desk or L-shaped home office desk is the answer. It has more than enough room for your PC or laptop as well as screens and storage space for documents and other items. These are well known for their space saving properties so often work just as well in a smaller sized room.
  • Spaces Within a Room: We don't all have the space to dedicate a whole room to set up an office at home. Sometimes it's not practical to bring in a full-size work desk. Luckily, we have plenty of compact home office desks. One of our favourite examples is the fold down wall desk, it simply attaches to the wall and whenever you need to work, simply pull down the shelf and start working. Designs such as these can be used in many rooms in the house such as the living room, kitchen or study.

Choosing the Right Desk

The first thing to consider when choosing is what will it be used for? Working from home, you’ll need to consider your surroundings. Models such as an adjustable or computer desk which fits in your available space may be the best option in a smaller area whereas height adjustable models may be more suitable for someone who spends a lot of their time pacing and working on the phone whilst standing. You may be looking for a shaped writing desk but unsure which one to choose from.

There are many options to choose from but hopefully, the below guide will help you make a choice that suits your needs.

  • The Right Size: When working out what size desk is right for you, measure out the space that you are planning to use and consider the adjacent walls, windows as well as room for a home office chair or standing mat. Many of the products in our selection desk with shelves and drawers, an easy-to-use storage facility which could save you space and time. We also offer corner desks with the same look and feel. We can offer a variety of colours with the option of a shaped desk divider for privacy
  • Desk Height: Most desks in the UK have a standard height of around 70–75cm, which has been calculated based on research on correct posture. Desks lower than this could cause you to sit incorrectly at the desk which can then lead to back pain. Another option would be standing desks which have become much more popular of late. They allow you the freedom to stand and move around whilst you’re working.
  • Materials: Our range comes in a variety of materials so you can choose one to fit the look and feel of your home. If you are going for a more wooden, rustic look, our oak finish office desks are a must have. On the other hand, if you want a more industrial look and feel, then our Iron Foundry range may suit you better.
  • Accessories: Do you need a monitor stand, or will your screen be freestanding? Monitor arms allow you to hold one or multiple monitors affixed to the back of your desk. This gives you the freedom to have more working space. Another accessory that is popular is our cable management solutions, These keep all your cables tidy and free from clutter.
  • Storage Solutions: Do you need to be able to store files, documents, or other items away? If so, then a storage solution that could work for your space would be filing cabinets and desk pedestals. A filing cabinet allows you to store documents securely with a lock and key. Pedestals, built in or freestanding, offer a mix of drawers, shelves, and cupboards, depending on your preferences. These can also be locked and can be used for anything from personal items to stationery.
  • Modern Design: Modern home office desks really depend on one’s opinion of modern styles, however our white desks and our Teknik Hudson Chunky desk can give your home office what we feel is a modern, sophisticated look. It has an excellent work surface space, plenty of rook to hold other items such as desk lamps, or a file tray.
